Besides an active mentor program and various study groups, our guild has an extensive library of textile reference books and periodicals available for members. We also maintain a small collection of weaving and spinning tools available to rent.
Membership dues are $20/yr and directly cover the costs of program speakers, equipment maintenance, library acquisitions and facilities rental. In addition to access to our programs, library, and rentals, members are eligible for discounts for guild-hosted workshops.
Study Groups
Weaving on a Harnessed Loom
Dedicated to getting our hands weaving, this group was begun for beginning and intermediate members in need of inspiration and a bit of assistance. Need to learn (or remember) how to dress a loom? Need help troubleshooting that sticky warp thread? Have a special way to deal with broken warp? This is the group to join. While all members contribute to the study sessions, it’s bravely led and hosted by one of our most prolific weavers, Nancy Collins.
Meeting are usually held the second Friday of the month 1:30-3:30pm at a members home. Please email Nancy Collins for specifics.
Tapestry Weaving
Tapestry weaving is perhaps one of the most potentially mobile and inexpensive ways to begin weaving. Along with personal projects, this group sometimes works collaboratively on create pieces to exhibit in the larger weaving community on state and national levels. This group is headed by the always energetic and highly skilled Sidsel Moreb.
Handspinning
Weavers tend to be a rather tactile and self reliant group, and so handspinning often exerts its pull on us at some point or another. Ann Pierson hosts this meeting group the second Monday of the month. Please email her (click link) for meeting time and directions.
Mentor Program
A number of our members are available to mentor others on a one-to-one basis. Please email Ann Pierson or announce your desire at a meeting and we’ll find someone to help.
