Craft Corner

Need a recurring weekly time and place to socialize and work on your portable project? Knit, crochet, calligraphy, coloring books, weaving on a small loom, stitching, mending, yarn untangling? Bring your project and please join our group! Meetings are Monday mornings 10:00 am to noon at the Books-A-Million cafe 6111 Newberry Road G’ville.

Hand-Spinning 

Weavers tend to be a rather tactile and self reliant group, so hand-spinning often exerts its pull on us at some point or another. Ann hosts these meetings on the 3rd Monday of the month at 7:30pm.  Contact us for the address.

Tapestry Weaving

Tapestry weaving is perhaps one of the most potentially mobile and inexpensive ways to begin weaving. Along with personal projects, this group sometimes works collaboratively to create pieces to exhibit in the larger weaving community.

We meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 10:00-11:30 at the Millhopper Library.

Felt SIG

Members only. Meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month, 12pm – 2pm at a member’s home in Archer. Each meeting will require a small materials fee. RSVP required. Contact felting@gainesvillehandweavers.org.

Charity Knitting / Crocheting

We gather at different times of the year to use our needles and looms to create donations for local charities. Information will be shared in the GHG Newsletter when a project is planned. Join us in making and sharing.

Traveling Threads

A new adventure SIG. Once a month we will decide where we want to go… art show, artist studio, museum, artist talk, sheep shearing, fiber shopping or just a great lunch for show and tell. This will be a weekend SIG – Saturday or Sunday. The members will make a choice each month. We’ll have sign-up sheets, directions and car pooling. All are welcomed ~ No attendance taken.
